Raise the car on a lift or place it over a viewing hole, while the car must be in a horizontal position.
1. Place an appropriate container under the oil drain plug and unscrew the plug (pic. 12.2, 12.3).

2. Completely drain the oil from the gearbox.
3. Clean the oil drain plug from metal particles and replace the sealing washer. Screw in the oil drain plug and tighten it to the required torque.
Oil drain plug tightening torque:
- gearboxes F5MR1: 38 Nm
- gearboxes F5M42: 32 Nm
- gearboxes F5MV1: 35 Nm
4. Wipe the area around the oil fill plug. Unscrew the oil filling plug and remove the sealing washer from it (pic. 12.4, 12.5). Fill the gearbox with oil up to the level of the lower edge of the oil filler hole. To check the true oil level, wait until it stops flowing, then: add oil to the gearbox until a new flowing trickle appears. The oil level will be correct after the flow of flowing oil has stopped.

Transmission oil volume:
- gearbox F5MR1: 3.4 l
- gearbox F5M42: 2.2 l
5. On the F5MR1 gearbox, tighten the oil fill plug securely by hand.
Recommended tightening torque: 2.3 Nm
6. On the F5M42 gearbox, tighten the oil fill plug to the required torque.
Tightening torque: 32 Nm
