Spring pin - MITSUBISHI GENUINE PART MD970389 or equivalent.
General information
The gearbox is housed in an aluminum alloy crankcase and attached to the left end of the engine. It consists of a gearbox, final drive and differential.
Torque from the crankshaft of the engine is transmitted through the clutch to «the input shaft of the gearbox, on which the clutch disc is mounted. Further, the torque is transmitted to the secondary shaft and further to the differential and to the drive shafts. In the neutral position, the input shaft and output shaft gears rotate freely and do not overeat torque to the differential at the gearshift mechanism moves the corresponding fork, which moves the synchronizer and discolors the hard connection of the output shaft gear to the output shaft.
To ensure smooth and fast gear shifting, all forward gears are equipped with synchronizers consisting of blocking rings and spring-loaded pins, together with gears and synchronizer clutch hubs. With their conical surface, the blocking rings at the moment of gear engagement come into contact with the conical belts of the gears of the corresponding gear.
