General information
Warning. Repair of the clutch requires the removal of the gearbox, so in this case it is also recommended to replace the clutch disc and the clutch release bearing.
The clutch is designed for short-term separation and smooth connection of the crankshaft of the engine and the input shaft of the gearbox, starting the car from a stop and during gear changes without noise and risk of damage to parts. On cars, a dry single disc clutch is installed, which consists of a driven and pressure clutch discs, a central diaphragm spring, a casing and a clutch release bearing. Clutch drive - hydraulic.
Clutch disengagement is carried out as follows. As a result of pressing the clutch pedal, the piston in the master cylinder moves, compressing the fluid, the pressure of which is transmitted through the hose to the clutch slave cylinder, the piston of which, in turn, acts on the clutch release fork. The release fork moves the release bearing, which presses on the center of the diaphragm spring, thus releasing the closing force around the perimeter of the spring, and moves the pressure plate backwards. This releases the driven disk, after which the motor shaft and gearbox shaft can rotate independently of each other.
On vehicles with 4G93, F9Q1 engines since 2000, a clutch pedal position switch is installed on the clutch pedal.
