(1) If the brake pedal is fully depressed, the ignition key is in the LOCK position (OFF) or removed from the ignition switch, the selector lever cannot be moved from position P to any other position unless the button on the selector lever is pressed.
(2) If the brake pedal is fully depressed, the ignition key is set to any position other than LOCK (OFF) or the ignition switch is removed, the selector lever can be easily moved from position P to any other position if the button on the selector lever is pressed.
(3) If the brake pedal is released and the selector lever is in any position other than P, the ignition key cannot be turned to the LOCK position (OFF),
(4) If the brake pedal is released and the selector lever is in position P, the ignition key can be smoothly turned to the LOCK position (OFF).
2. If problems occur during the test, adjust the ignition switch interlock cable as follows:
(1) Remove the floor console and preinstall the selector lever handle.
(2) Move the selector lever to position P.
(3) Turn the ignition key to the LOCK position (OFF).
(4) Loosen the lock nut of the ignition switch lock cable.
(5) Lightly press on the junction of the cable with the cam of the locking mechanism in the direction of the arrow shown in Figure 13.33 until the cable stops and tighten the lock nut.

Tightening torque: 12 Nm
(6) Install the floor console.
3. After adjustment, re-check the operation of the ignition switch lock mechanism. If it does not work properly again, replace the ignition switch interlock cable.
