Checking the Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor

1. Disconnect the connector from the accelerator pedal position sensor (see fig. 6.6).

2. Measure the resistance between pins 2 and 1 and 8 and 7 of the sensor connector (see fig. 6.4).

Resistance: 3.5-6.5 kOhm

3. Measure the resistance, respectively, between pins 2 and 3, as well as 8 and -6 of the sensor connector (see fig. 6.4).

Normal condition

Slowly press the accelerator pedal

The resistance changes smoothly in proportion to the pressure on the accelerator pedal.

4. If resistance differs from demanded or does not change smoothly replace the gauge of position of a pedal of an accelerator.

Note. After replacement, adjust the position of the accelerator pedal sensor.
