Throttle position sensor test

1. Disconnect the connector from the throttle position sensor (see fig. 6.4).

2. Measure the resistance between pins 1 and 3 of the sensor connector (see fig. 6.4, 6.9).

Resistance: 3.5-6.5 kOhm

3. Measure the resistance between pins 1 and 2 and 1 and 4 of the sensor connector (see fig. 6.4).

Normal condition

Slowly open throttle from fully closed to fully open position.

The resistance varies smoothly in proportion to the throttle opening angle.

4. If resistance differs from demanded or does not change smoothly replace the throttle position sensor.
