2. Connect the MUT-II to the diagnostic socket.
3. Remove a casing of a gear belt of a drive of the gas-distributing mechanism.
4. Turn the crankshaft clockwise and set the piston of the 1st cylinder to TDC on the compression stroke.
5. Turn on the ignition and on the screen of the MUT-II device, select the item «Measuring Belt Tension».
6. Loosen the locknut securing the timing belt tensioner.
7. Turn the M6 bolt to adjust the timing belt tension.
8. Position the microphone (MV991668) in the place indicated by the arrow in figure 4.4, perpendicular to the surface of the belt (at an angle of±15°) at a distance approximately equal to 10-20 mm from the rear surface of the belt.
9. Gently press the belt between the pulleys at the point indicated by the arrow in Figure 4.4 with your hand and check that the frequency of the belt oscillations corresponds to the nominal value.

Warnings
- (1) Belt surface temperature should be as close to normal temperature as possible.
- (2) Do not allow foreign particles such as water or oil to enter the microphone.
- (3) The measurement result will not correspond to the actual value if the microphone is affected by strong gusts of wind or nearby noise sources.
- (4) When measuring, do not allow the strap to touch the microphone, otherwise the measurement result will not correspond to the actual value.
- (5) Do not measure with a vehicle running.
