Note. If a leak causes the radiator to be removed, remember that small leaks can be repaired with sealant.
Removing
- Disconnect the wire from the negative battery terminal.
- Set the temperature control knob inside the car to the maximum temperature.
- Drain the coolant from the cooling system.
- Remove the air filter.
- Remove the radiator cap (pic. 5.26).

- Turn out bolts and remove the top supports of a radiator.
- Turn out bolts, disconnect sockets and remove the fan of the condenser and fan of a radiator.
- Remove the radiator from the car.
Examination
- Check the radiator for bent fins. If necessary, straighten the platinum with a comb.
- Check the radiator for cracks, damage and leaks.
- Check the radiator hoses for cracks, damage or fraying.
- Check expansion tank for damage.
- Check the radiator cap.
- Check the opening pressure of the radiator cap valve.
- Check the radiator cap gasket for cracks or damage.
Installation
- Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following.
- Push the hoses onto the nozzles so that their ends reach the protrusions on the nozzles,
- Secure the hoses with clamps, while matching the marks on the hoses and clamps.
- Fill the cooling system with the required amount of the required coolant.
- Start the engine and let it run until the thermostat valve opens, then stop the engine.
- Remove the radiator cap and add coolant up to the top edge of the radiator neck.
- Check for leaks from the cooling system.
