If there are leaks in the intake manifold, the vacuum of the air entering the engine is reduced, which leads to a malfunction of one or more cylinders.
Removing
- Disconnect the wire from the negative battery terminal.
- Drain the coolant from the engine cooling system.
- Remove the lower engine mudguard.
- Remove the air filter.
- Remove ignition coils.
- Remove the throttle body.
- Disconnect the brake booster vacuum hose (pic. 2.67).

- Disconnect the connector from the canister purge solenoid valve.
- Disconnect the vacuum hose.
- Remove the vacuum hose and vacuum tube.
- Remove the canister cleaning solenoid valve.
- Turn out a bolt and remove an arm of a socket of the gauge of an angle of rotation of a cranked shaft.
- Turn out bolts of fastening of clips from wires.
- Disconnect the PCV ventilation hose.
- Remove the bolts securing the air expansion chamber to the intake manifold.
- Remove the bolts securing the intake manifold support to the intake manifold.
- Remove the bolt securing the intake manifold to the EGR valve bracket and remove the gasket.
- Remove the bolts and nuts and remove the intake manifold and intake manifold gasket.
- Remove the expansion air chamber.
- Turn out a bolt and remove a clip of fastening of a wire of the gauge of concentration of oxygen.
- Align the bolts and remove the intake manifold support.
- Disconnect the connector from the EGR servo (EGR).
- Disconnect the engine cooling hose.
- Turn out bolts and remove the valve of recirculation of the fulfilled gases (EGR).
- Remove the EGR valve base bolts and remove the gasket.
Examination
- Check intake manifold for cracks or other damage.
- Check graduation (vacuum) channel for blockage.
- Using a metal ruler and feeler gauges, measure the flatness of the mating surface of the intake manifold.
Deviation from the flatness of the mating surface of the intake manifold:
- nominal: no more than 0.15 mm
- maximum allowable: 0.20 mm
Installation
- Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following.
- Install the throttle assembly.
- Install the ignition coils.
- Install the air filter.
- Install the lower engine mudguard.
- Pour coolant into the engine cooling system.
- Connect the wire to the negative battery terminal.
