Removing
Disconnect the wire from the negative battery terminal
Front crankshaft oil seal
- Remove the timing belt drive of the gas distribution mechanism
- Loosen the bolt and remove the crankshaft position sensor.
- Remove the crankshaft pulley and key.
- Remove the crankshaft position sensor impeller and spacer.
- Drill two small holes in the front crankshaft oil seal located at diametrically opposite ends of the oil seal. Insert two self-tapping screws into the drilled holes in the stuffing box and, using pliers by the screw heads, pull out the stuffing box.
- Clean the gland seat.
Rear crankshaft oil seal
- Remove the gearbox
- Turn out bolts and remove a casing of coupling with a pressure disk and a conducted disk of coupling.
- Using a special tool, block the flywheel from turning and unscrew the bolts of its fastenings (pic. 2.32)
- Remove the flywheel and connecting plates.
- Punch a groove near the sealing lip with a knife or flathead screwdriver.

Warning. Be careful not to damage the crankshaft and cylinder block.
- Insert a flat screwdriver blade wrapped in cloth into the punched gas, and use the screwdriver as a lever to remove the oil seal.
Installation
Rear crankshaft oil seal
- Before installing, clean the bolts, threaded holes in the crankshaft and the flywheel from oil, sealant and other contaminants.
- Lubricate the working lip of the new oil seal with a thin layer of engine oil.
- Use a special tool to install the crankshaft rear oil seal as shown in Figure 2.33
- Clean the threaded holes in the crankshaft.
- Apply a coat of blocking agent to the threaded holes in the crankshaft and to the threads of the flywheel mounting bolts.

Locking agent: 3M Stud Locking 4170 or equivalent
- Install the flywheel and connecting plates.
- Using a special tool, block the flywheel from turning and screw in the bolts of its fastening (pic. 2 32).
Tightening torque: 93-103 Nm
- Establish a conducted disk of coupling, a cover of coupling with a pressing, a disk and screw in bolts of its fastening.
- Install the gearbox.
Front crankshaft oil seal
- Lubricate the working lip of the new oil seal with a thin layer of engine oil.
- Using a special tool, install the crankshaft front oil seal as shown in Figure 2.34.
Pic. 2.34. Using a special tool to install the crankshaft front oil seal
- Install the spacer and crankshaft position sensor impeller.
- Install the segment rod and crankshaft pulley.
- Install the crankshaft position sensor.
- Install the timing belt drive of the gas distribution mechanism.
- Connect the wire to the negative battery terminal.
