- Only high quality filters should be used to ensure proper engine operation. When replacing the filter, make sure that the rubber gasket from the old oil filter is completely removed from the mating surface of the cylinder block
- Start the engine and warm it up to a temperature of 80-90°C.
- Remove the engine oil filler cap.
- Remove the plug and drain the engine oil from the engine.
Warning. Be careful as the drained oil is very hot.
- Unscrew the oil filter with a special wrench (pic. 3.64):
- wrench MD991396 for oil filter MD135737;
- wrench MD991610 for oil filter MD136466;
- universal wrench for oil filters except for filters MD135737 and MD136466.

- Wipe off all traces of oil and dirt around the filter attachment. Check if the rubber seal is left on the cylinder block. If it remains, then remove it.
- Lubricate the rubber seal of the new oil filter with clean engine oil and screw in the oil filter (pic. 3.65). Tighten the oil filter by hand until it touches the rubber seal on the cylinder block. Tighten the oil filter to the required torque using a special wrench.
Torque:
- filter number MD135737: 1 turn (14 Nm)
- filter number MD136466: 3/4 turn (17 N·m)
- filter number MD322508: 3/4 turn (17 Nm)
- filter number MD325714 and MD332687: 3/4 turn (16 Nm)

- Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. Check it for oil leaks around the filter and the oil drain plug on the sump. Keep in mind that the oil pressure warning light may stay on for several seconds as the oil must fill all channels and oil reservoirs in the engine.
- Dispose of the oil filter in accordance with current legislation.
