2. Connect the MUT-II to the diagnostic socket.
3. Connect a stroboscope.
4. Start the engine and let it idle.
5. On the MUT-II, select item 22 and check the idle speed, which should correspond to the nominal value.
Engine idle speed: 750±100 min-1
6. On the MUT-II, select item 22 (actuator test function - actuator test function) and set the ignition timing advance to the position of the main ignition timing.
7. Check the setting of the main ignition timing, which must correspond to the nominal value.
Setting the ignition timing: 5°±3°to TDC
8. If the basic setting of the ignition timing does not match the required value, check the MPI system.
9. On the MUT-II, press the button «CLEAR» and cancel the basic ignition timing setting mode.
Warning. If the test mode is not canceled, the forced setting mode, the main ignition timing will continue for 27 minutes, and starting the engine under these conditions may cause damage to the engine.
10. Make sure that the ignition timing setting is within acceptable limits.
Basic ignition timing: 10°to TDC.
Notes
(1) The ignition timing setting fluctuates around±7°BTDC even under normal operating condition.
(2) With an increase in the frequency of rotation of the engine crankshaft, the ignition timing can change within 5°from the nominal.
11. Remove the stroboscope.
12. Turn off the ignition and disconnect the MUT-II.
