The car comes with two keys. that fit all locks. Keep one of the keys in a safe place as a spare.
To minimize the risk of car theft, the keys have a unique design that makes it very difficult to copy. In addition, the locks of the car are designed in such a way as to prevent the doors from being unlocked not with your own key, but by other means.
Be careful when handling the keys so as not to lose them or lock them inside your own car.
To prevent unauthorized persons from finding out your key number, this number is stamped not on the key itself, but on a removable plastic key fob. Keep the plastic key fob in a safe place away from your keys.
Note
- (1) Duplicate keys can only be made by an authorized Mitsubishi dealer. If you lose your keys, tell the dealer the key number.
- (2) Because the vehicle is equipped with an electronic immobilizer, the engine is designed in such a way that it will not start if the ID code registered with the immobilizer electronic control unit does not match the ID code of the key.
- (3) Never leave keys near magnetic or metal objects, as this may adversely affect transponder performance.
