- The electrolyte level must be between the UPPER LEVEL marks (Top level) and LOWER LEVEL (Lower level), marked on the battery case.
- Use a hydrometer and a thermometer to measure the density and temperature of the electrolyte (pic. 19.28).

The density of the electrolyte depends on the temperature, so use the following formula to convert the measured density to the density at 20°C.
D20 = Dt + 0,0007 (t - 20),
Where:
D2C: density of the electrolyte, normalized to a temperature of 20°C
Dt: actual density measurement result t: actual electrolyte temperature
