Generator Relay Test

1. Remove the generator relay from the relay box located in the engine compartment (pic. 19.6).



2. Connect the positive ohmmeter lead to relay pin 2 and the negative lead to pin 4 and verify that the circuit is complete.

3. Next, make sure the circuit is open when the positive ohmmeter is connected to relay pin 4 and the negative ohmmeter to pin 2.

4. If the results of the check do not meet the requirements given in points 2 or 3, replace the generator relay.
