Pic. 18.3. Connecting special equipment when charging the air conditioning system
Pic. 18.4. Connecting the cylinder to the charging valve
2. Connect the charging hose to the transfer valve (of blue color).
3. connect the low pressure quick coupling to the charging hose (of blue color).
4. Connect the low pressure quick fitting to the low pressure service valve.
Warnings.
- To connect the quick-release fitting, firmly press the coupling part A towards the service valve until it clicks.
- When connecting the quick fitting, run your hand along the hose while applying pressure to ensure there are no kinks.
5. Close the high and low pressure valves on the sense manifold.
6. Connect the vacuum pump adapter to the vacuum pump.
7. Connect the plug and power cord to the adapter.
8. Connect the charging hose (yellow color) to the connection hole R-134a of the vacuum pump adapter.
9. Screw on the transfer valve handle (valve open).
10. Open the low pressure gauge manifold valve.
11. Turn on the vacuum pump switch.
12. To start the vacuum pump, turn the vacuum pump adapter switch towards the R-134a fitting.
13. Pump down to a vacuum of 100 kPa (the process takes about 10 minutes).
14. Turn off the vacuum pump adapter switch and wait 5 minutes.
15. Check for leaks. The system is healthy if the vacuum does not decrease.
Warning. If the vacuum drops, check the tightness of all connections and then repeat the pumping procedure, starting from step 12.
16. Fully open the filling valve and insert it into the filling cylinder.
17. Unscrew the transfer valve handle (valve closed), remove it from the measuring manifold and connect it through the filling valve to the filling bottle.
18. Screw on the filling valve handle (valve closed) for punching a hole in the filling cylinder.
19. To charge the system with refrigerant, unscrew the handle of the charging valve (valve open) and tighten the handle of the transfer valve (valve open).
20. If no refrigerant enters the system, unscrew the handle of the transfer valve (valve closed).
21. Check for refrigerant leaks with a leak detector. In the event of refrigerant leaks, retighten all connections and repeat the charging procedure, starting with the refrigerant recovery operation (paragraph 12).
22. Start the engine.
23. Turn on the air conditioner and set the air temperature control knob to maximum cooling (MAX. COOL).
24. Set the engine speed to 1500 min-1.
25. To charge the required amount of refrigerant, turn the transfer valve handle (valve open).
26. After finishing charging the system with refrigerant, unscrew the handle of the transfer valve as far as it will go (valve closed).
27. Turn the filling valve handle all the way (valve closed). Disconnect the low pressure quick fitting from the low pressure service valve.
