Removing
- Disconnect the wire from the negative battery terminal.
- Remove the glove box.
- Remove the passenger side lower panel from the instrument panel.
- Disconnect the connector, remove the bolts and remove the fan resistor.
- Disconnect a socket, turn out bolts and remove the fan of a heater.
Checking the heater fan motor
- With additional wires, apply voltage from the battery to the contacts of the fan motor connector (pic. 18.18). If the fan motor rotates and does not create extraneous noise, then it is working.

Resistor test
- Measure the resistance between the heater resistor connector pins (pic. 18.19).

Resistance:
- between contacts 3-2 (LO) -2.30 ohm
- between pins 3-4 (ML) -1.10 ohm
- between contacts 3-1 (MN) - 0.40 ohm
Checking the fresh/recirculated air damper motor
- Verify that by connecting the positive battery terminal to terminal 1 of the connector and the negative terminal to terminal 2 of the connector, the air mode damper actuator moves the damper to the fresh air position (pic. 18.20).
Pic. 18.20. Pin assignment of fresh/recirculated air damper motor connector
- Verify that by connecting the positive battery terminal to terminal 3 of the connector and the negative terminal to terminal 1 of the connector, the air mode damper actuator moves the damper to the air recirculation position.
Installation
- Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
