Pic. 18.5. Installing a transfer valve when topping up from a cylinder at a low refrigerant level
1. Unscrew the filling valve handle until it stops (valve open) and insert it into the filling bottle.
2. Unscrew the transfer valve handle until it stops (valve closed) and insert it into the filling valve.
3. Connect the charging hose to the transfer valve (of blue color).
4. Connect to the charging hose (of blue color) low pressure quick fitting.
5. Turn the filling valve handle all the way (valve closed) for punching a hole in a balloon.
6. Turn the transfer valve handle and bleed the air.
7. Connect the low pressure quick fitting to the low pressure service valve (pic. 18.6).

8. Start the engine.
9. Turn on the air conditioner and set the air temperature control knob to the maximum cooling position (MAX. COOL).
10. Set the engine speed to 1500 min-1.
11. Screw on the transfer valve handle (valve open) and top up the system with the required amount of refrigerant, observing the fill level through the sight glass.
12. After completing the refrigerant charge, unscrew the handle of the transfer valve as far as it will go (valve closed) and remove the quick fitting.
