Warning. When removing the driver's airbag and coiled wire, follow the safety precautions when servicing the SRS system.
Removing
- Remove the multifunction stalk with integrated rear window wiper and washer switch and wiper relay
- Open the cover, unscrew the nut and remove the arm and wiper blade. Removal of the lever and the wiper blades should be carried out with the wiper lever raised, as shown in Figure 17.74.

Warning. If the wiper arm is removed in the lowered position, the spring force will damage the tapered bore of the arm with the splines of the drive shaft: this reduces the reliability of this connection by increasing the diameter of the tapered bore of the wiper arm.
- Remove the protective cap and unscrew the wiper nut.
- Turn away bolts of fastening of the electric motor of a screen wiper, disconnect an electric socket and remove the electric motor.
- Remove washer spray.
Installation
- Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following.
- Position the wiper arm so that the blade is on the glass near the edge of the glass spray area (pic. 17.75).

Checking the rear window wiper motor
- The rear window wiper motor must be installed in the vehicle and the wiring harness electrical connector disconnected from the engine.
- With additional wires, connect the battery terminals to pins 1 and 3 of the engine connector as shown in Figure 17.76 (A), and check the operation of the wiper.
- With additional wires, connect the battery terminals to pins 2 and 3 of the engine connector as shown in Figure 17.76 (IN), and check that when the wiper motor starts running, it stops in its original position.

Checking the rear window washer motor
- When checking, the tank must be installed in the car and filled with liquid.
- With additional wires, connect the positive terminal of the battery to pin 2 of the connector and the negative terminal to pin 1 of the connector, while the liquid should be sprayed onto the rear window (pic. 17.77).
