Changing the oil in the gearbox

1. Draining the oil from the gearbox will be faster and more efficient if this operation is carried out after the engine has warmed up to operating temperature and a test drive to warm up the gearbox.

2. Working under the vehicle, clean the dirt around the drain plug.



3. Place a suitable container under the drain plug, then loosen and unscrew the plug and drain the oil into the container (pic. 11.2).

4. After the oil drains, clean the mating surfaces of the cover and gearbox from dirt and oil.

5. Screw on the plug and tighten to 38 Nm.





6. Unscrew the filler plug and fill in new oil to the specified level (pic. 11.3, 11.4). Recommended gear oil - Elf Tranself TRX 75W-80W (XT3556). Volume - 3.4 liters.

7. Wrap the filler plug and tighten it to the required torque.
