1. With the engine installed in the vehicle's engine compartment, check the engine oil and coolant levels. Check that all previously removed wires and hoses are installed in their places.
2. Disconnect an electric socket from the block of ignition and remove the relay of the fuel pump. Crank the engine with the starter until the oil pressure warning light goes out, then connect the electrical connector to the ignition unit and install the fuel pump relay.
3. Start the engine. Starting the engine may take longer than usual due to a power failure.
4. With the engine idling, check for fuel, coolant, and oil leaks. At this stage of engine operation, smell and smoke can be observed from heated parts of the engine when oil burns out that got on the engine during assembly.
5. The engine should idle until the coolant is warm - feel the upper radiator hose. Then turn off the engine.
6. After the engine has cooled down, check the oil and coolant levels.
7. When installing new pistons, piston rings or crankshaft bearings in the engine, it is necessary to run the engine in for the first 800 km. Do not operate the engine at wide open throttle or under heavy load at low engine speeds. At the end of the break-in period, it is recommended to change the oil and oil filter.
