Use a ruler or wooden block to check the belt tension midway between the two pulleys, as shown in fig. 3.1. Then press the belt at this point with a force of 98 N, measure the deflection of the belt and compare it with the nominal value.
Adjustment
1. Loosen the alternator pivot nut.

2. Loosen the lock bolt (pic. 3.2).
3. Turning the alternator adjusting bolt, adjust the belt tension and deflection to nominal values.
4. Tighten the lock bolt to 23 Nm.
5. Tighten the alternator pivot nut to 44 Nm.
6. Tighten the adjusting bolt to 6 Nm.
