During operation, any engine consumes a certain amount of oil. Therefore, it is important to check the oil level in the engine after certain runs (time intervals) and before a long trip.
During the test, the vehicle must be on a level, level surface with the engine stopped and warmed up to normal operating temperature. If the engine was running before checking, wait a few minutes to allow the oil to drain into the engine sump so that the level can be accurately determined.

Take out the oil level gauge (probe), wipe it with a clean cloth, and reinsert it all the way into the hole. Remove the oil level indicator and check the level. It must always be within the marks «MIN» And «MAX» (pic. 2.1 and 2.2).

If the oil level is below the specified limit, remove the oil filler cap and add oil. Then check the level again. If normal, reinstall the oil filler cap and make sure it is tight and secure.
Use only API or ACEA recommended oils listed in this manual.
Attention! Engine oil consumption largely depends on the payload of the vehicle, engine speed, driving style, etc. and can reach 1.0 l/1000 km.
Attention! Specifications (quality) engine oil can deteriorate rapidly when operating the vehicle in adverse conditions (e.g. frequent driving on poor roads and short distances, in high mountains, on roads with a lot of ups and downs). In these cases, the oil should be changed more frequently.

Pic. 2.3. Viscosity of engine oil depending on temperature for vehicles with gasoline engines
Engine oil should be selected with the appropriate viscosity-temperature characteristic according to SAE, depending on the ambient temperature. Use only ACEA A3 engine oils for OW-30, 5W-30 and 5W-40 viscosities (pic. 2.3).
Use the following engine oil:
- according to ASEA classification - «For service A1, A2 or A3» («For service A1, A2 or A3»);
- according to API classification - «For service SG» («For SG Service») or higher.
Attention! It is not recommended to add any additives to engine oil, as this can upset the balance of additives already present in the oil and, as a result, damage engine components and parts.

Select an engine oil with the appropriate SAE viscosity-temperature rating depending on the ambient temperature (pic. 2.4).
Use engine oil:
- type 1: ACEA - «For service B2-96 or B3-96» («For service B2-96 or B3-96»);
- type 2: according to API classification - «For service CF» («For CF Service»).
