Set the driver's seat to a comfortable position that allows easy operation of the pedals, steering wheel and instrument panel switches and provides good visibility (pic. 1.7, 1.8, 1.9, 1.10, 1.11).
Attention! Adjust the seat only before driving. After the seat is adjusted, make sure it is securely locked. To this end, try to move the seat and its backrest forward and backward without using the adjustment mechanism.
To reduce the risk of injury in a collision or sudden braking of the vehicle, seatbacks should be in a nearly upright position while driving. The effectiveness of the seat belts may be significantly reduced if the seat back is reclined. In this case, there is a risk that the passenger will slip out from under the seat belt and be seriously injured.
Attention! Do not place pillows, etc. between your back and seat back while driving. This will reduce the effectiveness of the head restraints in an accident.
Pull up on the seat adjustment lever and move the seat forward or backward to the desired position (see
rice. 1.7). After adjustment, release the adjustment lever to lock the seat in the new position.
Attention! To make sure the seat is secure, try moving it forward or backward without using the adjustment lever.
Pic. 1.8. Front seat backrest adjustment: 1 - tilt forward; 2 - tilt back
The angle of the seat back is adjusted by turning the handle (see fig. 1.8).
Warning! To reduce the risk of injury in an accident or sudden braking, seatbacks should be in a nearly upright position. The effectiveness of seat belt protection may be significantly reduced if the seat back is tilted. If the seat back is tilted while the vehicle is in motion, the passenger may slide out from under the seat belt, resulting in serious injury.
Lock to prevent theft of things
The lock to prevent theft of items in the trunk is located at the top of the rear seatback. It comes with the main key. If the lock cylinder is in position «LOCK» («blocked»), the seatback cannot be folded using the corresponding button on the seat.
In normal situations, it is recommended to leave the lock in the position «Unlocked».
Electric heated seats
Pic. 1.12. Seat heater switches: 1 - switch for electric heating of the driver's seat; 2 – the switch of electric heating of a seat of the forward passenger; 3 - control lamp; 4 - weak heating (to keep the seats warm); 5 – heating off; 6 - strong heating (for fast heating)
The seat heating can only be switched on when the ignition key is in the «ON» («ON»). The seat heater switches are located on the center console (pic. 1.12). The control lamp 3 will light up when the electric seat heating is switched on.
Attention! Turn off the seat heating when it is not needed.
Attention! If you need to heat up the seat quickly, turn on the high heat setting. After the seat is warm, switch the heater to low heat to keep the seat warm. When using seat heating, slight changes in seat temperature may be felt. This is due to the operation of the built-in seat heater thermostat and does not indicate a malfunction.
Attention! Do not use blankets, pillows, or other insulating materials when the seat heating is on, as this may cause the heating element to overheat.
Attention! If there are signs of a problem with the seat heater, turn it off immediately.
Note. Do not place heavy objects or sharp objects on the seats (pins, needles, etc.).
Note. Do not use gasoline, diesel fuel, alcohol or other organic solvents to clean the seats: this may damage not only the upholstery of the seats, but also their heating element.
Note. If water or other liquid is spilled on the seat, wait for it to dry before turning on the seat heating.
