General information
When replacing lamps, do the following:
1. Disconnect a wire from the negative plug of the storage battery.
2. Before replacing the lamp, check the relevant electrical circuit and fuse.
3. Do not touch the glass bulb of the lamp with bare hands. The fingerprint evaporates and is deposited on the reflector, resulting in poor lighting.
4. Remember that if the lamp has just burned, it is very hot.
5. Check the condition of the contacts in the lamp and lamp socket. Before installing a new lamp, clean any traces of corrosion and dirt from the contacts.
6. Be sure to replace failed lamps with lamps of the same type.
7. When installing a bayonet-type lamp, check that the socket contacts are securely connected to the lamp contacts.
