Warning! Improper service or repair of any component of the SRS system (as well as an SRS-related component) may result in injury or death to operating personnel (as a result of unauthorized deployment of an airbag), as well as the driver and front passenger (as a result of the inoperability of the SRS system after unskilled service or repair).
Attention! Maintenance or repair of any component of the SRS system (or related component) must only be carried out by an authorized Mitsubishi dealer.
Two types of steering wheels can be installed on cars: with three spokes for conventional models and with four spokes for car models equipped with an additional passive safety system (SRS). The steering column is equipped with a shock absorption device and a tilt adjustment mechanism.

Power rack-and-pinion steering is used, steering gear and steering gear are combined into one lightweight and compact unit (pic. 13.1).
The hydraulic power steering system consists of a vane pump with a fluid flow control system, due to which the servo force varies depending on the engine speed.
