Removing
To remove the hydraulic booster pump, perform the following steps in sequence.
1. Drain the power steering hydraulic system.

2. Remove belt 5 (pic. 13.19) drive.
3. Remove inlet hose 7.
4. Disconnect socket 6 of the pressure switch.
5. Remove bypass bolt 4.
6. Remove O-ring 3.
7. Disconnect type 2 connection «banjo».
8. Remove the pump 8 of the hydraulic power steering.
Examination
1. Check the drive belt for cracks.
2. Verify that there is no imbalance when rotating the pulley assembly.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following.
1. Fill fluid into the power steering hydraulic system.
2. Adjust the tension of the power steering pump drive belt.
3. Remove air from the power steering hydraulic system.
4. Check the working pressure of the hydraulic power steering pump.
Vehicles since 1997 with diesel engines
Removing
To remove the hydraulic power steering pump, perform the following steps in sequence.
1. Drain the power steering hydraulic system.
2. Remove the bottom guard of the timing belt.

3. Remove drive belt 1 (pic. 13.20).
4. Remove pump pulley 2.
5. Disconnect connection 9 of the supply hose.
6. Disconnect connection 8 of the outlet (injection) hose.
7. Remove the O-ring 7.
Examination
1. Check the drive belt for cracks.
2. Check the condition of the pulley for uneven (with a beating) rotation.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following.
1. Fill fluid into the power steering hydraulic system.
2. Adjust the tension of the power steering pump drive belt.
3. Remove air from the power steering hydraulic system.
4. Check the working pressure of the power steering pump.
5. Install the lower timing belt guard.
Vehicles since 1998
Removing
To remove the power steering pump, perform the following steps in sequence.
1. Drain the power steering hydraulic system.

2. Remove drive belt 1 (pic. 13.21).
3. Remove the supply hose 9 (low pressure).
4. Disconnect socket 5 of the pressure switch.
5. Loosen the nut 4 fastening the connection type «banjo».
6. Remove washer 3.
7. Disconnect type 2 connection «banjo».
8. Remove the bracket 7 of the pressure sensor-switch.
9. Remove the pump 8 of the amplifier of a steering.
Examination
1. Check the condition of the pump drive belt for damage.
2. Check the condition of the drive pulley for runout.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following.
1. Fill fluid into the power steering hydraulic system.
2. Adjust the tension of the power steering pump drive belt.
3. Remove air from the power steering hydraulic system.
4. Check the working pressure of the power steering pump.
Vehicles since 2001 with diesel engines
Removing
To remove the power steering pump, perform the following steps in sequence.
1. Drain the power steering hydraulic system.

2. Remove drive belt 1 (pic. 13.22).
3. Remove pump pulley 2.
4. Disconnect the inlet connection (leading) hose 3.
5. Disconnect the outlet connection (injection) hose 6.
6. Remove the O-ring 7.
7. Remove the pump.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following.
1. Fill fluid into the power steering hydraulic system.
2. Adjust the tension of the power steering pump drive belt.
3. Remove air from the power steering hydraulic system.
Examination
1. Check drive belt tension.
2. Check the condition of the pulley for uneven (with a beating) rotation.
