Note. familiar (*) parts are marked that must be pre-tightened, and then carry out the final tightening by lowering the unloaded car onto the wheels.
Removing
To remove the trailing arm of the rear suspension, perform the following steps in sequence.
1. Remove the rear drum brake mechanism or rear disc brake mechanism.
2. Remove the rear wheel hub.
3. When removing the trailing arm, move the lift arm slightly towards the front of the vehicle so that it does not interfere with the operation.

4. Remove the spring clip and disconnect the brake hose 5 from the lever (pic. 16.11).
5. Turn away two bolts and remove the gauge of frequency of rotation of a back wheel (vehicles with ABS).

Attention! When removing the rear wheel speed sensor, be careful that pole piece 1 (pic. 16.12) sensor has not touched the surface of the rotor teeth or other parts.
6. Disconnect cable 8 (see fig. 16.11) parking brake.
7. After installing the jack under the lower suspension arm, disconnect the fasteners.
8. Turn away and take a bolt 7 of connection of the bottom and longitudinal levers.
9. Turn away and take a bolt 1 fastenings of the trailing arm to a body.
10. Turn away and take bolts 2 fastenings of correcting and longitudinal levers.
11. Turn away a nut and take a bolt 4 of connection of the top and longitudinal levers.
12. Remove the trailing arm 9.

13. Use special tools to press out the trailing arm bushing (pic. 16.13).
Examination
1. Check the rear suspension trailing arm for cracks and deformations.
2. Check bushings for cracks, wear and damage.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following.
1. Correctly orient and position the trailing arm bushing.
Pic. 16.14. When installing, the long protruding edge of the inner tube of the trailing arm bushing must face the inside of the vehicle: 1 – an axis of a hole of the trailing arm
2. Position the long protruding end of the inner tube of the trailing arm bushing so that it faces the inside of the vehicle (pic. 16.14).
3. Install the trailing arm bushing so that the axis of the bushing is aligned with the axis of the trailing arm bore.

4. Use the special tools to press in the trailing arm bushing (pic. 16.15).
5. When installing the wheel speed sensor, insert a feeler gauge into the gap between the end of the wheel speed sensor pole piece and the toothed surface of the rotor, then fix the sensor bracket in such a position that the gap around the circumference is 0.3-0.9 mm.
Attention! Be careful not to damage the wheel speed sensor pole piece and rotor teeth with other metal parts.
6. Install the rear drum brake mechanism or the rear disc brake mechanism.
7. Install the rear wheel hub.
