Checking the safety mechanism of the power window regulator

1. Lower the door glass 50 mm from the fully closed position.



2. Install a wooden board about 4 cm thick as shown in fig. 17.8, and raise the glass.

3. Check that when the board is clamped, the glass automatically lowers by approximately 50 mm.

4. Lower the glass again 50 mm or more from the fully closed position and retest. Make sure that this time the glass is lowered by approximately 150 mm.

5. If the door glass does not move the specified distances, replace the power window assembly.

6. When installing a new power window for all doors, after the door windows are completely closed, hold the power window control switch in the position «UP» for more than 1 s.
