1. Engage the handbrake and depress the brake pedal.
2. Move the selector to position R.
3. Turn the ignition key to the START position.
4. Slowly move the selector to position P, when it clicks while fixing in this position, the starter should turn on. In this case, the position P is set correctly.
5. Similarly, check that the N position is set correctly.
6. The cable is adjusted correctly if the starter only engages in positions P and N.
