Since the 1991 model year, vehicles with 4D56T engines have been equipped with an accelerated preheating system.

The fuel tank is stamped from steel sheet and mounted at the rear of the vehicle.

- short wheelbase two-door car: 60 (until 1991) and 75 (after 1991);
- long wheelbase four-door car: 92.

The Diesel Kiki type high pressure fuel pump is equipped with an all-mode speed controller and a hydraulic injection advance controller.
The frequency of rotation of the crankshaft of the engine at idle, rpm: 700–800.
Initial fuel supply advance angle after TDC:
- engines 4D56, 4D56T: 70.
The engines use Diesel Kiki screw-in nozzles.
Both standard nozzles and reduced nozzles can be used.
Injection start pressure, kgf/cm2: 118–128.
Resistance of starting candles, mOhm: 250.
The engines are equipped with a turbocharger that uses the energy of the exhaust gases to boost the engine.
By increasing the weight of air entering the cylinders, the turbocharger contributes to more efficient combustion of the increased dose of fuel, thereby increasing engine power at moderate thermal stress.
On the 4D56 engine with a power of 95 hp. and 4D56T the intake air is cooled by an air-to-air cooler.
Since May 1991, the 4D56 engine has been equipped with a new turbocharger with higher performance, which, in particular, was provided by increasing the length of the intake pipe and changing the geometry of the exhaust tract.
Boost pressure, kgf/cm2:
- 4D56 engine with a power of 95 hp: 0.78;
- 4D56T engine: 0.82.
Air cooling in the heat exchanger is provided by an electric fan, which is turned on and off by a cooler electric fan switch-on sensor installed on the cooler body.
Since May 1991, the useful area of the 4D56T engine cooler has been increased by 25% compared to the cooler installed on vehicles with a 95 hp 4D56 engine.
The sensor for turning on the electric fan of the heat exchanger is triggered at a temperature of more than 50°C.
