Cylinder head cover for twin-shaft engine
Removing
1. Disconnect ground. Remove the air filter (on part of injection engines, it is enough to disconnect the air duct from the intake manifold).
2. Disconnect the ventilation hoses from the cover. To access the cover, move other hoses aside, try not to disconnect the hoses unless necessary.
3. Disconnect the wires from the candles and take them aside. On twin shaft motors, be careful as wires can be easily damaged.
4. If the cylinder head cover is located above the belt cover, then unscrew the bolts securing the cylinder head cover.
5. If the cylinder head cover is located under the belt cover, then remove the belt cover, then turn away the bolts of the cylinder head cover.
6. Carefully remove the cover, do not pry on the cover.
7. Remove the semi-circular plug at the back of the cover (or cylinder heads).
Installation
1. Clean the lid. Remove any sealant residue from the plug and cover edges. If the cover gasket has not been changed by repeatedly removing the cover, then replace it.
2. Before installation, grease the places indicated in the illustrations with sealant: (1 - places where the sealant is applied, 2 - a plug, 3 - lubricate the areas of the cylinder head with sealant 10 mm from the edges of the plug).
3. On V6 engines, lubricate the gasket at the corners with sealant (1 - places for applying sealant).
4. Further assembly is carried out in the reverse order. Press lightly on the cover when tightening the bolts. Tighten the cover bolts with a torque of 4.0–5.4 Nm. The engine can be started after 2 hours. If leaks are observed, remove the cap and determine the cause.
