Thermostat check
1. Valve protrusion
Removal and installation
1. Disconnect the battery from the ground, remove the air filter (if necessary), drain the coolant to the level of the lower edge of the radiator pipe.
2. Disconnect hoses, turn away bolts and remove the thermostat.
3. If necessary, check the thermostat in a container of water. The opening temperature must be 88°C and the valve protrusion must be 8 mm.
4. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Clean the thermostat and replace the gasket, lubricating with sealant. Tighten the bolts carefully, turning and tightening alternately. Warm up the engine, check the operation of the thermostat.
Diesel
Diesel thermostat
1. From the radiator
The thermostat is mounted at the bottom of the cylinder block and connected to the lower radiator hose. The thermostat has a bypass valve.
Removal and installation
1. Disconnect the battery from the ground, drain the coolant to a level below the thermostat.
2. Disconnect the bottom hose of a radiator from a branch pipe of the thermostat, remove a branch pipe and the thermostat.
3. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Clean the flats and install a new gasket, lubricating with sealant on both sides. Warm up the engine, check the operation of the thermostat.
