Before starting work, prepare a new filter that must match the engine of your car (the filter must be designed for a pressure of about 17.6 atm (1764 kPa) and butter (refillable volume approx. 6 l). Oil should be changed when the engine is warm.
1. Warm up the engine.
2. Turn off the ignition and unscrew the filler cap.
3. Jack up the car.
4. Support the vehicle with a stand.
5. Place a drip tray under the drain plug.
6. Remove the plug.
7. Drain the oil into the sump. After the oil drains, wipe the plug with a clean rag and screw the plug back on. Tighten the plug firmly, being careful not to strip the threads.
8. Place a pan under the oil filter. Unscrew the oil filter by hand or with a wrench.
9. Wipe the place where the filter fits on the cylinder block with a clean rag.
10. Lightly lubricate the rubber gasket of the new filter with engine oil and screw the filter into place. Tighten the filter by hand until the gasket contacts the surface of the cylinder block, then tighten 3/4 turn.
11. Lower the car and fill in the oil of the desired brand, bringing the level to the upper mark.
12. Start the engine, after 10 seconds the oil pressure lamp should go out. If the lamp does not go out within 15-30 seconds, then stop the engine, find and eliminate the cause.
13. With the engine running, check the tightness of the sump plug and filter by following these places for a minute.
14. Stop the engine and check the oil level again after a few minutes.
Top up if necessary.
