Cleaning the terminal from corrosion
Cleaning the pole piece
Battery care is reduced to checking the condition of the poles and terminals, the presence of electrolyte leaks and corrosion on adjacent metal parts, restoring the electrolyte level, periodic voltage checks and charging. The places affected by corrosion should be washed with a solution of soda and painted with zinc primer. Terminals and poles should be cleaned to a shine, while not deforming the conical part of the terminals. On maintenance-free batteries, check the electrolyte density. Some of the batteries have built-in hydrometers of the chromatic type.
Built-in chromatic type hydrometer
1. White (needs to be recharged)
2. Blue
Add distilled water (no electrolyte leaks) until the level reaches 9.5 mm above the plates.
Charge the battery (except unattended) low current recommended.
