Infants and young children
When transporting very young children and toddlers, a child seat must be used. They can be purchased in specialized stores.
The child seat must be suitable for the weight and height of the child and must be installed in the rear seat.
Follow the seat manufacturer's instructions when installing the seat.
If you are not using a child seat, fasten it with a seat belt or remove it from the vehicle.
Attention! Statistics show that children are safer when they are in a child seat in the back of a car rather than in the front. We therefore recommend that children be placed in a child seat in the back seat of the vehicle.
Warning! Traveling with a baby in your arms is not a substitute for a child seat. If the child is not in the child seat at the time of the accident, the child could be seriously injured.
Transportation of older children
Older children must be in the back seat of the vehicle and must be buckled up when the vehicle is in motion.
If the shoulder belt is at the level of the child's face or neck, seat the child closer to the middle of the rear seat, or use only the middle seat belt. The lower belt should be on the lower abdomen. Otherwise, if an accident occurs, the seat belt may press hard on the child's stomach and cause injury.
Attention! Never leave a child unattended in a car.
