Rear wheel cylinder parts (on the inserts - lubrication points before assembly: sealant (left), brake fluid (in the center) and lubrication with the composition of the repair kit)
1. Drum; 2. Fitting for pumping; 3. Brake tube fitting; 4. Cylinder; 5. Case; 6. Piston; 7. Piston seal; 8. Cylinder
Examination
Unscrew the edge of the wheel cylinder boot and inspect it from the inside. If any traces are found indicating leakage of fluid under the dust cover, replace the cylinder.
Removal and installation
1. Remove drums and pads (see subsection 11.13.1, subsection 11.13.2).
2. Substitute the pallet, unscrew the fitting and plug the tube and the hole in the cylinder.
3. Disconnect the tube, unscrew the fastening bolts.
4. Remove the cylinder.
5. Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
6. Tighten the mounting bolts with a torque of 18 Nm.
Disassembly and assembly
1. From the removed cylinder carefully remove dustproof covers and get pistons.
2. Check the condition of the parts, the presence of scratches and signs of corrosion on the cylinder.
3. Check up a backlash between the piston and the cylinder. If the clearance exceeds 0.15 mm, replace the cylinder assembly.
4. When assembling, put on the pistons new seals using the cone MB990621-01, after lubricating the seal and cone with grease from the repair kit or brake fluid.
5. Further assembly is carried out in the reverse order.
6. Bleed the hydraulic brakes.
