Removing
Drain the coolant.
Remove the air filter.
Remove the throttle body in the sequence shown in the figure.
Throttle Body Gasket Installation
Position the gasket so that its protruding part is located as shown in the illustration, and then install it between the intake manifold and the throttle body.
Installing the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS)
Set the throttle position sensor to the position shown in the figure and tighten the mounting screws.
Connect a multimeter between pin 1 (TPS sensor power supply) and output 2 (TPS sensor output) throttle position sensor connector, and check that when the throttle is slowly opened (until its full opening), the resistance gradually increased.
On vehicles without a TCL system, check the circuit between terminal 3 (fully closed throttle position switch) and output 4 («weight») throttle position sensor connector at wide and open throttle.
If the circuit is open at wide throttle, turn the throttle position sensor housing counterclockwise and retest.
If there is a malfunction in the sensor, replace the throttle position sensor.
