The air conditioner can operate while the engine is running. The effectiveness of the heater is directly related to the temperature of the engine coolant, so turn on the heater after the engine has warmed up to operating temperature. The air flow is changed by adjusting the fan speed.
Air conditioner switch
Press switch 1 and the air conditioning system (cooling function, dehumidification) turn on. The air conditioning indicator light will also come on.
Press the air conditioner switch 1 again and the air conditioning system will turn off.
Note. If a malfunction occurs in the air conditioning system, the air conditioning indicator lamp will flash. Press the air conditioner switch once to turn it off, then press it again to turn it on. If the control lamp goes out, then there is no malfunction. If the lamp continues to flash, consult your MITSUBISHI dealer.
Sometimes (for example, if the car was washed under strong water pressure) the air conditioner becomes humid and the air conditioner indicator lamp flashes accordingly. This does not indicate a malfunction. Wait a moment and then press the air conditioner switch twice (turn off first and then turn on). After the water has evaporated, the lamp will stop flashing.
Attention! During operation of the air conditioner, the idle speed increases slightly as the air conditioner compressor turns on and off automatically. Therefore, be careful when starting the car from a place.
Fan speed switch
The fan speed is set by turning switch 2 clockwise or in the opposite direction. For normal use, set to first or second speed.
Air temperature adjustment knob
If knob 3 is turned all the way to the left, the heater is switched off. Turn the knob clockwise to increase the temperature.
Note. If the engine coolant temperature is low, the temperature of the air supplied to the passenger compartment will not rise even if the air temperature control knob is turned to the high temperature side.

Ventilation mode selection knob
(To the head area). The air flow enters the upper part of the vehicle interior.
(In the area of the legs / head). Air enters the upper part of the vehicle interior and the leg area.
(To the leg area). Air enters only in the leg area.
(To the foot area / to the heated windshield and side window vents). Air enters the leg area, as well as the windshield and door windows.
(To the windshield and side window heating vents). Air flows only to the windshield and glass doors of the car.
Note. Air is always supplied from the side vents, regardless of the position of the ventilation mode selection knob.
Air intake mode selection switch
Each time this switch 5 is pressed, the ventilation modes change between outdoor air intake and recirculation mode. In recirculation mode, the indicator lamp lights up.
Outdoor air intake mode
Outside air enters the vehicle interior.
Air recirculation mode
The air is recirculated in the passenger compartment.
Note. The outside air intake mode should be selected to quickly remove moisture or ice from the windshield and side windows and keep them clean.
Select the recirculation mode when intensive cooling of the passenger compartment air is required, and also if the outside air is very dusty or polluted.
At the same time, you should periodically turn on the outside air intake mode, which will prevent the windows from fogging up.
When the switch is in the air intake mode position, the air intake and recirculation modes change automatically. If the outdoor temperature is high, the recirculation mode for re-cooling is activated and the indicator lamp starts flashing. Press the switch to return the system to air intake mode.
Attention! Using the air recirculation mode for a long time may cause the windows to fog up.
Heating of the leg area
Set the ventilation mode selection knob to the positions shown in the figure, and set the air intake mode selection switch A to the outdoor air intake mode. Adjust the temperature by turning the temperature control knob clockwise or counterclockwise. Select the desired fan speed.
Note. For maximum heating, set the fan mode switch to the third speed.
Combination of heated and unheated air
Set the ventilation mode selection knob and the outdoor air intake mode selection knob to the positions shown in the figure. The air flow will be directed towards the legs and the upper part of the cabin.
Select the desired fan speed.
Warm air will be drawn towards your feet rather than hot or weakly heated air upstairs.
Elimination of fogging of a windshield and glasses of doors
Attention! For safety, make sure you have a good view through all the windows in your car.
To remove frost or condensation (fogging) from the windshield or door windows, set the ventilation mode selection knob to or .
in this position, the leg area is heated and fogging is removed from the windshield and door windows (recommended when driving in rain or snow).
1. Set the air intake mode selection switch A to the outside air intake position.
2. Set the air intake mode selection switch to position.
3. Adjust the fan speed by turning the control knob.
4. Adjust the temperature by turning the temperature adjustment knob.
5. Press the A/C switch B.
For quick removal of glass fogging.
Set the air intake mode selection switch A to the outside air intake position.
Set the air intake mode selection switch to position.
Set the fan speed control to maximum.
Set the air temperature control knob to maximum.
Press the air conditioner switch B.
Note. To effectively defog the windows, direct the air flow from the side vents to the door windows.
Do not set the air temperature control knob to a position close to the maximum cooling position. Cooled air will be supplied to the door glass and condense on them (sweating will occur).
Supply of outside air to the cabin
To supply outside air to the passenger compartment in hot weather, set the air intake mode selection switch A to the outdoor air intake mode and the air temperature control knob to the positions shown in the figure. Make sure the temperature control knob is set all the way to the left. Select the desired fan speed.
Note. Turn the ventilation mode selector knob clockwise and the airflow will be directed towards the feet and windshield.
Cooling
Set the ventilation mode selection knob to p. Set switch A to the outdoor air intake mode and press the air conditioner switch B. Adjust the temperature by turning the air temperature adjustment knob clockwise or in the opposite direction.
Select the desired fan speed.
Note. If the outside air is dusty, too dirty, or the interior air needs to be quickly cooled, set the air intake mode selection switch to the recirculation position and turn the temperature control knob all the way to the left. Periodically switch to the outside air intake mode so that moisture does not condense on the windows.
When the switch is in the air intake mode position, the air intake and recirculation modes change automatically. If the outdoor temperature is high, the recirculation mode for re-cooling is activated and the indicator lamp starts flashing. Press the switch to return the system to fresh air intake mode.
Attention! While the air conditioner is running, the idle speed increases slightly as the air conditioner compressor turns on and off automatically. Therefore, be careful when starting the car from a place.
