Direction indicator lamps (green)
These indicator lamps flash at the same time as the direction indicators are working.
Note. Too frequent flashing of the indicator lamps indicates a poor connection in the direction indicator circuit or a burned out indicator lamp.
Control lamps of inclusion of the alarm system (green)
When the hazard switch is pressed, all direction indicators flash.
The control lamp of the alarm system about an open door (red)
This lamp illuminates when any of the side doors or the rear (fifth) door.
Attention! Before driving, make sure that this warning lamp is off.
Note. On vehicles with remote door turn off/on, this lamp flashes for a short period of time and then turns off automatically to prevent the remote control battery from draining.
Control lamp of indication of inclusion of forward antifog headlights (green)
This lamp illuminates when the front fog lamps are on.
Control lamp of indication of inclusion of a back antifog lantern (yellow)
This lamp illuminates when the rear fog light is on.
Control lamp of inclusion of a high beam of headlights (blue)
This indicator lamp illuminates when the high beam headlights are on.
Brake warning lamp (red)
This lamp comes on when the ignition key is turned to the «ON» («On») and goes out after starting the engine.
When the ignition key is in the position «ON» («On»), this lamp lights up in the following cases:
- when the parking brake is on;
- when the level of brake fluid in the reservoir of the hydraulic system of the brakes falls below the minimum allowable level.
Attention! In the situations listed below, there is a risk that the brake system will not work properly when braking hard. Try in these cases to avoid driving at high speed and sudden braking.
The brake system warning light does not come on after the parking brake lever has been raised, or it does not go out when the vehicle is released from the parking brake.
The brake system warning lamp lights up while the vehicle is moving.
If the brake system does not work or its effectiveness has decreased, then you should stop the car as follows:
- press the brake pedal with more force than usual;
- if the braking system does not work, slow down the vehicle by applying engine braking and slowly apply the parking brake lever to stop the vehicle.
At the same time, depress the brake pedal to turn on the brake lights to warn rear drivers of braking.
Engine Malfunction Indicator Lamp (yellow)
This lamp is part of the on-board self-diagnosis system that monitors and monitors engine, automatic transmission and emission control systems for malfunctions.
If the self-diagnosis system detects a malfunction in one of the above systems, the engine malfunction indicator lamp lights up. Although the vehicle can normally be driven with the warning light on and does not need to be towed, it is still necessary to have the vehicle inspected by an Authorized MITSUBISHI Dealer as soon as possible. This lamp also comes on when the ignition key is turned to the «ON» («On»), and then after a few seconds it should turn off. If this does not happen, have the vehicle checked by an authorized MITSUBISHI dealer.
Attention! Driving for extended periods with the check engine light on can exacerbate damage to the emission control system. It can also affect fuel consumption and vehicle handling.
If this warning lamp does not come on when the ignition key is turned to the «ON» («On»), then have the vehicle checked by an authorized MITSUBISHI dealer.
If this warning light comes on while driving, do not accelerate the vehicle to high speeds and have the system checked.
When the vehicle is driven with the check engine light on, the vehicle may not accelerate when the accelerator pedal is depressed. If a vehicle equipped with an automatic transmission is standing still with the engine running, try to depress the brake pedal harder, as the engine malfunction indicator light is on. idle speed increases.
Note. Fault codes that occurred during the operation of the car (especially related to exhaust toxicity), are stored in the memory of the electronic engine control unit, which serves the self-diagnosis system. This data will be erased from the electronic memory of the unit when the wires are disconnected from the battery terminals, which will greatly complicate the quick diagnosis of malfunctions of your car. Do not disconnect the wires from the battery terminals if the engine malfunction indicator lamp lights up.
Oil pressure warning lamp (in the engine - red)
This lamp comes on when the ignition key is turned to the «ON» («On») and goes out after starting the engine. If this lamp lights up while the engine is running, it means that the engine oil pressure is below the minimum value. In this case, stop the engine immediately and contact your nearest authorized MITSUBISHI dealer.
Attention! If this lamp illuminates when the engine oil level is normal, have the vehicle checked by your nearest authorized MITSUBISHI dealer.
This warning light does not indicate the amount of oil in the crankcase. The amount of oil is determined by its level on the dipstick (with engine off).
Driving with a low engine oil level or oil pressure warning light on can result in engine damage (scoring, jamming, etc.).
Note. This lamp does not indicate the amount of oil in the crankcase. The oil level in the crankcase is checked with a dipstick.
Battery discharge warning lamp (red)
This lamp comes on when the ignition key is in the «ON» («On») and should go out after starting the engine.
Attention! If this warning light stays on after starting the engine, there is a problem with the charging system. In this case, immediately stop the vehicle in a safe place and contact the nearest authorized MITSUBISHI dealer.
