Checking the operation of the heater system in the engine warm-up mode

Before starting the check and adjustment, bring the engine to the condition described below.

Coolant temperature: 80-90°C.

Lighting, electric fan and other auxiliary equipment: off.

Gearbox: Neutral (pregnant «N» or «R» for vehicles with automatic transmission).

Steering wheel: in straight ahead position.

Check if the idle speed of the engine is within the nominal value.

Rated value: 750 + 50 min^-1.

With the air conditioner on and with the heater switch in position 3 (MN) or 4 (HI), check that the idle speed is correct.

Rated value: 850 + 50 min^-1.

Attention! In this case, there is no need to make any adjustment, since the idle speed is automatically maintained by the idle system (ISC). If, for any reason, the idle speed differs from the nominal value, then the ISC system must be checked.

Air filter replacement procedure

Remove the glove box.

Loosen the two screws as shown in the figure and replace the air cleaning filter.

Install the glove box.
