Attention! The o-ring and piston boot are internally coated with a special grease, so do not wipe off this grease.
Basic disassembly operations
When disassembling disc brakes, disassemble on both sides of the vehicle (left and right) - as a set.
Removing the protective cover and piston
Cover the caliper housing with a rag. To remove the boot and piston, direct compressed air into the hole in the brake hose.
Attention! Blow compressed air gradually.
Removing the piston seal
Remove the piston o-ring with your fingernail.
Attention! To prevent damage to the inner surface of the wheel brake cylinder, do not use a flathead screwdriver or other tool.
Wash piston and cylinder surfaces with trichlorethylene, alcohol, or recommended brake fluid.
Used brake fluid: DOT3 or DOT4.
Installing the top and bottom guide pins
Install the guide pins according to the marks («G» or «L») on the fingers and the caliper body.
Check the cylinder for wear, damage or corrosion.
Check the piston surface for wear, damage or corrosion.
Check the caliper body or bushing for wear.
Check the brake pad linings for damage or oil, and the metal backings of the pads for damage.
