Check up smoothness of movement of glass of a door along a directing groove at a raising and lowering of glass to extreme positions.
If the door glass does not move up and down smoothly, adjust.
Remove the door trim assembly and waterproof film.
Loosen the door glass fixing screws through the service holes with the door glass fully raised and lower the door glass slightly.
Raise the door glass completely and tighten the door glass screws securely through the service holes.
Adjustment in the event of a malfunction of the power window of the side door
Note. This adjustment is made if the door glass automatically starts to move down when the switch is pressed to raise the glass.
Remove the door trim assembly and waterproof film.
Lower the door glass to the extreme position, then disconnect the glass from the holder on the power window. Raise and lower the door glass by hand to check the operating force.
Attention! Install a soft buffer inside the door to prevent damage to the glass if it is accidentally dropped.
If the door glass does not move up and down smoothly, then check the following and, if necessary, repair the parts.
Check that the door glass guide groove is correctly installed.
Eliminate twisting of the upper door glass guide.
Check that the lower door glass guide is installed correctly.
If repair or adjustment cannot be made, replace the door assembly.
Checking the operation of the power window safety mechanism
Place a piece of wood approximately 10 mm thick as shown in the figure, then lift the door glass.
Check that after clamping the bar, the glass has lowered by about 150 mm. If the power window operation is not as specified, then the cause may be a malfunction of the power window limit switch, a defective connector or wiring harness, a malfunction of the auxiliary power window switch or the main power window switch, or incorrect adjustment of the limit switch.
Warning! If the power window safety mechanism has actuated three or more times in a row, the safety window safety function must be initialized.
