Attention:
- The variator model is indicated in the line "TRANS/AXLE" on the identification plate, the location of which is given in chapter "Identification".
- The procedures for checking the level and replacing the working fluid, cleaning the pipelines of the variator working fluid cooler are given in the chapter "Maintenance and general inspection and adjustment procedures".
- Before starting work on the components of the electronic control system of the variator, read the section "General rules for working with the electronic control system" in chapter "fuel injection system (MPI)".
Hydraulic control system
The hydraulic control system consists of a variator pump, a variator working fluid cooler, a block of control valves, hydraulic accumulators, clutches and brakes.
The main pressure in the system is created by a pump, it is regulated depending on the load and vehicle speed and ensures the operation of the torque converter, clutches and brakes. The shift valves in the valve block control the flow of fluid to the torque converter and CVT.
Electronic control system
The electronic control system includes sensors of external electronic systems (throttle position sensor, coolant temperature sensor, etc.), various sensors on the variator (turbine shaft speed sensor, drive and driven pulley speed sensors, variator fluid temperature sensor, vehicle speed sensor, etc.), control switches, an electronic engine and variator control unit, solenoid valves for controlling the flow of working fluid in the hydraulic system (located on the control valve block).
