Removal and installation
Note: For the procedure for replacing the air filter element, see chapter "Maintenance and general inspection and adjustment procedures".
− Before starting to remove parts, carry out the following operations:
- A) (GDI engines) Remove the decorative engine cover.
- b) (Engine 4G15-MPI) Remove the relay and fuse box in the engine compartment.
− Removal of parts is carried out in the order of numbers indicated in the figure "Removing the air filter".
Removing the air filter (except for 4G15-MPI engine). 1 - air intake duct, 2 - air filter assembly, 3 - air intake hose, 4 - air filter housing, 5 - air filter element, 6 - air filter cover, 7 - mass air flow sensor, 8 - air filter bracket.
Removing the air filter (4G15-MPI engine). 1 - air intake duct, 2 - air filter assembly, 3 - air intake hose, 4 - air filter housing, 5 - air filter element, 6 - air filter cover, 7 - air filter bracket.
Attention: Items marked "*" are made of recycled plastic, so be careful when removing and installing, do not hit them, do not apply force to them, securely fasten the latches.
− Installation of parts is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
− After completing the installation of the parts, perform the following operations:
- A) (Engine 4G15-MPI) Install the relay and fuse box in the engine compartment.
- b) (GDI engines) Install the decorative engine cover.
