Removing
− Remove the engine crankcase guard before starting to remove parts.
− Removal of parts is carried out in the order of numbers indicated in the figure "Exhaust pipes, muffler and catalytic converter".
Exhaust pipes, muffler and catalytic converter (2WD models). 1 - main muffler, 2 - gasket, 3 - rubber-metal bracket, 4 - central exhaust pipe, 5 - gasket, 6 - oxygen sensor, 7 - catalytic converter (basic), 8 - gasket, 9 - exhaust pipe, 10 - gasket, 11 - rubber-metal bracket.

− (Except 4G93-MPI engine) When removing parts, pay attention to the procedure for removing the oxygen sensor.
To avoid damage to the sensor wiring, use a special tool head to remove it.
Examination
1. Check mufflers and pipes for corrosion or damage.
2. Check the rubber-to-metal brackets and protective covers for wear or damage.
3. Check up absence of leaks of the fulfilled gases from mufflers and pipes of system of release.
Installation
− Installation of parts is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
− (Except 4G93-MPI engine) When installing the parts, pay attention to the installation operation of the oxygen sensor.
To avoid damage to the sensor wiring, use a special tool head to install it.
− After completing the installation of the parts, install the engine crankcase guard.
