Removal and installation
Note: Removing the steering column combination switch is described in chapter "Steering".
Removal of parts is carried out in the manner of the numbers indicated in the figure "Removing the windshield wiper and washer".
Removing the windshield wiper and washer.1 - rear window washer hose, 2 - windshield washer hose, 3 - washer nozzle, 4 - wiper arm and brush assembly, 5 - seal, 6 - windshield wiper pad (left), 7 - windshield wiper pad (right), 8 - windshield wiper motor assembly, 9 - wiper linkage assembly (remove the right side engine guard, splash guard and disconnect the windshield wiper motor connector), 10 - washer reservoir assembly, 11 - windshield washer motor, 12 - rear window washer motor.
Note: arrows "" the locations of the latches are indicated; "" the location of the fasteners is shown.
When removing parts, pay attention to the operation of removing the windshield wiper motor.
A) Remove the windshield wiper motor mounting bolt.
b) Using a flathead screwdriver, disconnect the wiper crank arm from the linkage assembly.
Attention: it is not recommended to disassemble the turnip of the crank lever and the electric motor unless absolutely necessary, since during assembly they are installed at a certain angle. If disassembly is necessary, pre-apply your own alignment marks for the relative position of the parts.
− Installation of parts is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
− When installing the parts, pay attention to the installation operation of the wiper arm and wiper blade.
Establish levers of brushes and brushes of a screen wiper in gathering in the position specified in drawing.
Rated value:
- "A" - 34 +5 mm
- "IN" — 34±5 mm
Examination
1. Checking the windshield wiper motor on the car.
A) Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the motor.
6) To test the operation of the wiper motor at low and high speed, connect the battery terminal wires to the motor terminals as shown in the figure.
V) Checking the automatic return to the original position.
- Set low speed (LO) wiper motor running, then disconnect the wires from the battery terminals and stop the motor.
- Supply power (from battery), as shown in the figure, and make sure that after the motor starts rotating at low speed, (LO) it will stop in the automatic stop position (initial position).
2. Checking the steering column wiper and windshield washer.
The windshield washer and wiper stalk can only be checked with a tester.
3. Intermittent test "INT" windshield wiper operation.
Connect to terminals "4" And "6" Wiper and windshield washer stalk connector ohmmeter. Turning the knob from the position "FAST" to the position "SLOW", check that the resistance changes in the range of 0-1 kΩ.
4. Checking the washer motor.
A) Fill the washer reservoir with water when the washer motor is installed on the reservoir.
b) Connect battery power to terminals "1" (-) And "2" (+) washer motor as shown in the figure and check the water jet pressure.
5. Checking the direction of the water jet from the washer nozzles.
Adjust the direction of the water jet by moving the washer jet ball.
