Automatic transmission — general information

At the request of the client, COLT / LANCER can be equipped with an automatic transmission. The automatic transmission has 3 forward gears shifted automatically.

To enable faster acceleration, for example in overtaking conditions, the automatic transmission has a so-called switch "Kickdown", activated when you fully press the gas pedal. The kickdown effect is that the gearbox downshifts to achieve maximum acceleration.

To carry out a health check and for a qualified search for defects in an automatic transmission, it is necessary to have experience and knowledge of the design. Therefore, only the most important procedures, such as adjusting the control cables, are described here. Service (oil level check / oil change) presented in the section "Service" at the end of the guide.
