Removing
Attention: Note the installation position of the clutch cable in the engine compartment and, during subsequent installation, route the cable in the same way.
Pull out the clutch cable and turn the adjusting nut counterclockwise. This increases the free play of the cable.
On cars manufactured from January 1.84 to 8.88, unscrew the stop bolt, first loosen the lock nut.
Remove the clutch cable from the clutch lever by first pulling out the cotter pin and knocking out the cotter pin.
Disconnect the clutch cable from the clutch pedal and pull it towards the engine compartment.
Check the ease of movement of the clutch cable.
Check for damage to the cable sheath.
Lubricate the clutch cable before installation. To do this, apply multipurpose grease to the ends of the clutch cable and the connection to the cable of the clutch lever and pedal.
Installation
Insert the clutch cable through the bulkhead and connect to the pedal lever.
Connect the cable to the clutch lever and insert a new cotter pin. Adjust clutch free play.
