Normal oil consumption occurs due to the combustion of small amounts of oil in the cylinders, due to the removal of combustion products and particles resulting from friction. In addition, oil is consumed due to the high temperatures and high pressures it is subjected to in the engine.
Further, oil consumption is affected by operating conditions, driving style, and manufacturing tolerances. Oil consumption should not exceed 10 l/1000 km. Oil must be topped up when the mark is reached "Top up".
Caution: Add a little oil at a time. When topping up too much oil on vehicles with a catalytic converter, the excess oil must be drained, otherwise unburned oil will enter the muffler and destroy the catalytic converter.
